|
|
This week saw the launch of the new welfare to work project Flexible New Deal. Many companies will be delivering the scheme across the UK, predominately A4E who are opening 40 offices across the UK to roll out the new scheme to the long term unemployed.
Previous projects such as New Deal have come under much scrutiny in the fact that that the service isn’t individual and providing generic classroom training isn’t going to suit or improve the situation with unemployment.
Flexible New Deal focuses on providing support and guidance specific to each individual who has been on job seekers allowance for 12 months plus, and isn’t limited to just a 13 week period, but a 52 week programme which will allow advisors to identify how to transform each individual into successful job applicants.
Sustainability is the stark difference to this scheme with payment being made to these private companies after 13 weeks, then again after 26 weeks so the revenue gains are focussed away from just getting “bums on seats” but actually getting the unemployed into long term jobs.
Obviously Flexible new deal has only opened their office doors this week but I am interested to see what peoples thoughts are on the new scheme? |
