I accepted another position at my company May 20th. At that time,I was told that because there were deadlines coming up through the middle of June in my current position, I would need to perform both jobs. By June 16th my stress level was so bad that I was literally shaking all the time. I worked 12/11/10 hour days and took my laptop home at night so I could continue to work. I confronted my boss and asked how much longer he expected me to do both jobs since an internal replacement had been found. I finally got a committment of an end date for the old job of July 15th. Over the July 4th holiday weekend, I strained a muscle in my back and my healthcare provider told me that the reason my pain is so extreme is because the muscles in my back, neck and shoulders were all knotted up. I am on medical leave and have still been doing some work from home. I am not sure if I even want to go back to the company because I will still have to continue training my replacement while trying to do my new job. Does anyone have any advice? If I quit this job, would I be able to collect unemployment due to intolerable work environment?

You probably would not be able to collect unemployment, unfortunately. You who have to prove those dire circumstances, which is difficult, and even beyond that it is a highly subjective ruling to get.

If it is that stressful, I would try to find a little bit of time a day to dedicate to a job search, reminding yourself that though you may be busy and tired, this is your way out.
