Hi, thankx 4 looking. Was fired a few weeks ago and filed for UIB in Iowa,( first time in my life), employer is working to avoid paying benefits. I was turned down following the "phone interview/hearing" and will be filing a request for appeal. Can you tell me how to get the judge to award the payments even though the reason for termination was "wanton carelessness". THe "reason" can be smartly taken aprt as being completely inappropriate and out of charactor.
Awaiting anyones thoughts or ideas. Thankx in advance.

Usually an appeal can be fought and won; what you need to do is gather evidence to back up your claim be that in the form of documents or written/taped testimonials from coworkers. Anything you can document. Then go from there.
