|
|
| I was just laid off by a California ski resort. I meet all of the qualifications for unemployment insurance (UI) benefits except one. California requires UI recipients to have earned at least $1300 as an employee in one quarter in the last year. I started a career as a real estate agent last year and haven’t made a dime in that business. My best quarter had me earning ~$840 as a snowboard instructor. I received tips at this position that went unreported (my ski resort never addressed tips.) Can I call them up and have them add $450 in tips to my earnings? Would that have me qualify for UI? |
