The job you're talking about is strictly speaking a "civilian" job, in most police forces.
The likely name of the position is some form of normal IT position. Education requirements will probably be high, because they work with some specialist data.
Professional police have their own special training, in academies. Your academic record will be required to meet their criteria.

This is also a big commitment. You'd be advised to check it all out thoroughly, before signing up for a few years of hard work.
Another thing you might want to look at are the police ads for IT people, if that's your preferred approach. They can give you the basic qualifications required, and contacts for checking out how to structure a course for those positions. |
