If they haven't, they can. Please don't assume "they never check". Routine spot checks are regular. They're done on a schedule, and you'll find that there's a policy somewhere that says everybody's record should get some sort of check. Whether they've had time to do it or not with the recession, that's what's supposed to happen.
The vacation is technically part of the employment arrangements. It's not really relevant to your eligibility.
Verification's easy enough. Employers are required to provide that information on demand.
The strictly lawful angle here is that you should never get into a situation where your eligibility for benefits is compromised. It costs you money, to start with. Another problem is that anyone who does something they shouldn't tends to attract more negative attention in future.
Since you've obviously got some doubts:
I know bureaucracy is a pest. I should know, I worked in several for 20 years. But don't make the mistake of thinking it doesn't work. It does. It also becomes much more of a problem when it's working actively against you. Just play by the rules, and everything runs on rails. |

| Your earnings are based on your quarterly reported taxes which your part time employer reports. The take your best quarter over the last year and they don't include the last quarter prior to unemployment unless you have an extreme circumstance that would get you more money. |
