I know I should write them a letter explaining why I want to deny their offer after I have already accepted it, but is their any advice that I should have before writing this letter?

Basically, I got an offer at a different company and when I accepted it I told my current employer that I was quitting. Well they offered me a promotion in order for me to stay.

What to do?

Thank them politely in the letter and state that you got a more lucrative offer from your current employer. Do not go into details, let them counter offer you if they really want you to work for them.

If you want to stay on, stay on.
Check if the contract you signed you have to pay and fees or damages, but most likely not. Do read it and consult a lawyer if in doubt.
