I'm a nurse who has been doing education for the past several years and I am bored and want to do something else. I feel like I am unable to get my bosses to see me in any other role. In spite of the fact I regularly fill in as House Supervisor, Case Management, Staff Nurse, and help frequently with Quality. In addition I have an MBA that I am not using in my current position.

Any suggestions for this tight job market? Should I just suck it up for a while until the recession blows over?

Thanks!

Your employer apparently doesn't know when he's got a good thing going. There's a huge shortage of nurses, even despite big Federal and state cutbacks which are turning the industry inside out.

I did a review on this site, nursing jobs.org, recently: http://www.nursingjobs.org/
The site has a lot of professional materials and pro, experienced nurses on the forum who can help you check out career options.

This is the review: http://www.cvtips.com/career_advice_forum/us-job-site-review-nursing-jobsorg-for-all-our-nurses-vt9022.html

Strongly suggest not letting that MBA and your obvious experience go to waste. You'd qualify for a range of management positions, and it looks like you've already had at least one good lesson in non-management from the current job.
