You don't sound silly. I'm pursuing a degree in the same field, and my problem is that I like too many things and it makes it difficult to choose for me as well. This is an ever growing field; I would not be surprised if some of these divisions split up more over the next few decades. My choice was to go with mulitmedia, as I already have a bachelor's in art and that seems like a natural pairing of degrees that could be advantageous to me. However, I am hgihly interested in Networking, Security Systems, and learning to do programming and have been developing these skills on my own and as I progress along with the degree, there is nothing to say I won't deviate and change course, or go for moe than one specification.
What I am getting at, is if it helps to pair up a prior degree with the one you seek, then do it. Another option is to let your early classes be used for exploration--they are required and have to be done anyway, and along that time you may find some of that activities are more enjoyable than others, and that could help you decide.
I hope this has been at least a little helpful? Best wishes
