Hi

It may sound silly at first asking this but...

I 'm a Computer Science Student and once i've graduated i will be stuck with one of the most important decision of my life and that is what kind of job to look for in this industry? You might think i already have something in mind before doing this course at first place but seriously i have no clue - i just enjoy this topic of Computer Science!

So what kind of jobs/ areas in Computer Science should i go for? I've not really specified in a particular area, ive learned most Computer Science topics.

So the choices available to me right of what i can think of is:

    Software Development
    Web Development
    Multimedia & Graphics
    General IT/ Computer Tech stuff
    Database
    Game Development?

Any more? Or any ideas of good choice where i can pursue?[/list]

You don't sound silly. I'm pursuing a degree in the same field, and my problem is that I like too many things and it makes it difficult to choose for me as well. This is an ever growing field; I would not be surprised if some of these divisions split up more over the next few decades. My choice was to go with mulitmedia, as I already have a bachelor's in art and that seems like a natural pairing of degrees that could be advantageous to me. However, I am hgihly interested in Networking, Security Systems, and learning to do programming and have been developing these skills on my own and as I progress along with the degree, there is nothing to say I won't deviate and change course, or go for moe than one specification.

What I am getting at, is if it helps to pair up a prior degree with the one you seek, then do it. Another option is to let your early classes be used for exploration--they are required and have to be done anyway, and along that time you may find some of that activities are more enjoyable than others, and that could help you decide.

I hope this has been at least a little helpful? Best wishes Smile
