This link is to a series on employment in Australia we did last year.

http://www.cvtips.com/immigration/australia_employer_sponsorship.html

Read all these links. Dept Immigration helped us out with these articles, so you're getting all the basics. Please note that we put a lot of emphasis on getting the visa and immigration stuff right, and Dept Immigration is the first place to call to make sure you don't get tangled up in the bureaucracy.

There's a lot to explain about the immigration and work visa processes, but in general getting a sponsor is usually based on employment considerations. Tourism is big in Australia, although the recession has reduced visitor numbers by about 435,000, and things are a bit slow at the moment. There will be something available, the question is finding it. Queensland may be your best shot as a place to start looking.

If you've got industry contacts, you're strongly advised to do some networking. You may be able to work with an Australian agency with links to India. That would solve a lot of problems, because they'll know how to handle the paperwork.
