Does anyone know of a mortgage payment protection insurance broker that can offer me a policy that stands alone, and costs less than my own lenders policy. They want to cahrge me £26 a month to cover my mortgage which is £510 a month. It seems a bit expensive.
I have heard of a company called Payment Sheild that does it but their web site wont allow me to apply for it. It says i need to use a broker. Question

Hi Gordon, i seee what you mean about not being able to get cover direct from Payment shield, but i found at least two brokers that would do it for me. The prices were the same, so it doesnt seem to matter where you go to apply for it.
You might want to try here:

I took the liberty of entering your mortgage payments of £510 a month and got a quote that cost £12.50

Funnily enough i also discovered that my own lender uses Payment Shield as there own in house insurance, but they charge more for it.
Dont know why this is, but hey, why look a gift horse in the mouth.

bit more expensive, but more options on waiting periods and cover.
