Hi I've currently been a postman for the last 4 years & have since gained a handful of IT certificates A+, MCSDT, MCP, (desktop support level).

Haven’t had much luck finding any job in IT yet, as most employers are looking for someone with experience, but qualifications alone aren’t enough.

However I have been offered temporary 2 months contracts from job agencies though.
My strategy is:
- leave fulltime job
- work temporary contracts (whilst continuously applying for permanent IT jobs)
- gain & expand experience from this to put on CV

6 months down the line it should be much easier to find a permanent job as I will then have commercial experience to back me up.
But there is a financial risk because when these short term jobs expire it could be 1 week, 2 weeks or longer before I start another temporary contract.

Have any of you guys out there gone down the root or should I just be patient & wait for a permanent position to arise.

If you have some cushion in your savings to try out this plan then I say go ahead but if you do not have some extra funds in your bank account it could be very difficult to pull off. You have ot get experience somehow though, even if it is this way now or this way later. Judge how well your finances are and base it on that partially.

It is better to leave a job, for gaining experience in temporary job. Because if we are not in good job & not paying more attention in that job, Its better to leave and join in job for temporarily or permanently which we are interested to gain experience.
