Sites like Google do not turn up much for that kind of stuff. A few ideas include using the phone book to research local companies, trying to find and use local job listings pages, or researching companies individually by name that you do know to see if they have any contacts near you. Job search engines like monster can sometimes have stuff but can take a bit of searching if you are up for it and don't mind.

You could try some of the job boards online. I know that www.TipTopJob.com have jobs in the Scotland area so you could check there.
Even if you do not find anything on these job boards, you should register with them as it is free and you can set up what are called Email Alerts. You put down what job you are trying to find and then if jobs that are regsitered in the future match the criteria you have put down, the job boards email you about them. Its great coz you dont have to do anything - you just wait for the emails to come to you.
Also you could try local directories to find the big companies in the area and just call them up directly to see if they have any jobs going. Sometimes it is better to just contact them and sell yourself in rather than trying to find any advertised jobs!!!!
Good Luck!!!!!
