Hi all,
As the title suggests, I need help.
I'm 16, just left school and got GCSE results today.
I want to end up in the IT programming/development area (I think )
The problem is that I don't know whether to go to 6th Form and get A-Levels in Maths, Business and Physics; or go to college and get BTEC in IT.
Which of these do you think would be the best to get into a Computer Science Degree at uni and which would look best to an employer in the IT industry?
Please reply, I need to decide as soon as possible. (6th Form registration is tomorrow)
Thanks in advance |

Hi,
I would go for the Btec in IT. This will limit you to IT though !
It would be faster but would not necessarily cover Business and Physics.
Business studies are an important asset to a programmer - you need to understand business systems (even though that is more the analyst role - but you will end up doing both some times)
Business, Maths and Physics can be a way to engineering if you decide to change.
Your school counselor can also help you a lot, pay him/her a visit I am sure they will gladly help.
