Hi Everyone,
I'm 26 years old, with a community college diploma in business/computers. When I was younger, I had no clue what I wanted to do as a career and I just happen to follow everyone who was all excited about the future of e-commerce. So now I have a worthless college diploma that seems that has no say in my career advancements and I work as a sales professional, who would of thought?!
I'm currently doing sales in a software company...and I've been in sales since I finished school.
I came to realize that if I don't do anything to improve myself and get ahead I'm going to be a salesman for the rest of my life...
So should I go back to school? Should I get a degree? It's hard enough to make a paycheck everyweek and i'm already in my mid twenties...looking to get married and I'm not sure if I have the money to even go back to school.
Is getting a degree really going to help me get ahead? or should I just work hard and get more experience??
simply confused... |

I found myself in this same area about a year ago. I just turned 27, by the way....I do not think that you are going to benefit simply by 'working hard' and hoping for the best. I am currently working on a second degree to supplement the first. As for paying for my education, everything right now is student loans that I do not have to pay back until after school. If something happens later, I can always request they temporarily suspend loan payments.
That is an option if it is a stafford loan and I think it might be possible with others?
I think school is a good option right now, even if part time.
