Hello from Ohio. My plant recently started downsizing and
I was released 2 mos. ago. All steps were done for unemployment benies along
with tra and taa benies Now they have called wanting me to come back for two
weeks to help with eqip. issues. They have offered me a little more than I was
making before. They have done great helping everyone to get through this
rough time. I feel obligated to help them. My concern is the only way they say they can bring me in is through a temp agency due to work comp tax issues.
They have along with temp agency stated this is strictly do this as a two week contract just for me. They say that I wont have any problems
reopening / restarting my unemployment claim for remaining benies along with tra and taa benies Am I in jeopardy of loosing any of this? Confused

I do not think so, but I would check with Ohio Unemployment office before accepting the offer, or via their website or hotline. You might explain your situation and explain to them that you fear compromising benefits and see what they say. When in doubt, don't do it.

I'd think it's a given that you'll lose those two weeks worth of benefits and may even have to go through another week's waiting period.

Sorry, but I've reached the point where I can't--no, won't---move beyond the obvious: "They" determined it was in "their' best interest to let you go but now "they" need your help? Pffffft. No way.

"When in doubt, sit it out" is indeed excellent advice, and wisdom!
