Can you get unemployment benefits if you drive for a living and can't renew your drivers' license now because of a 20+ year old DUI just hit California DMV?
My boss is fully aware as I told him the truth and he says he won't respond to EDD and I am welcome back once I straighten this out, but can EDD say NO right off the bat because of this reason? |

ooh....that's a weird question. They might come up with some excuse that you have other employable skills and could find a job doing something else. I would not say you are going to get benefits, but there's always a chance.
I would get online and check out the state's website directly or inquire by calling them, as your circumstance is a bit out of the ordinary, not sure how that one would be handled.
