I am based in England where i received a 3rd grade joint hons degree in French and Spanish in 2003.I gave birth to my first child in final year whom i have been raising alone ever since. The Spanish element is weak as i began university with very little prior knowledge that is, AB INITIO Spanish. It was this that was detrimental to the overall grade.I have been working in retail ever since,as i frankly feel unemployable. What are my options?

I would try looking at jobs other than retail first and see if anyone bites at your resume. Lots of times the response one gets can be in how they market themselves to a potential employer. Right now, economic times are tough and it could be difficult for you regardless. I would search first and then if nothing happens for a while, consider more schooling.

I would also try to strengthen my language skills and continue pursuing a career in that direction a 3rd grade degree and some solid job experience related to that degree will go a long way to establish a solid foundation in a linguistic job.,
