Free Career and Job Search Advice

I have a 4 year degree in Computer Information Systems and am flirting with the idea of an advanced degree. Does anybody who is working in a tech field have an advanced degree? If so, do you think it has proved to be more beneficial than just jumping into the market and gaining experience?

My boyfriend seems to be making a hefty sum and he has no additional training in this area, just a lot of skill and experience. He constantly tells me that a higher level degree could make his earnings that much more substantial, so I guess no matter what and who you know, in the tech field that certificate DOES matter.
