As far as jumping ship now, my experience is that any time you can replace your job than do it. Also, calculate your estimated time out of work as one month per every 10k of salary. If you can land a suitable job now, take it. Waiting for the severance package without doing any legwork now is simply a bad idea.
If you do make it to the severance package, and sit at an executive level, try negotiating the terms of the package to allow more favorable allowances for your down time. Most higher management do not think this is allowed, but that is only due to no one tells them otherwise. |
