|

Forum member 7days posted these questions, and I just felt it would be right to answer them for him or her. So please, before you judge someone on what type of job they do, prefer to do, or want to do, read on. Remember: they may not be jobs YOU think are pleasant, but someone, bigger than you, has to do them.
There are multitudes of different jobs, careers, companies, etc. out there. If someone is willing to work for them, and they are willing to pay, there is NOTHING wrong with whatever type of job you choose, as long as you're not being forced to do it against your will.
Q: Is this legal?
A: Yes, it is quite legal. In fact, there are hundreds of phone lines just for this purpose; you must also remember not all phone lines are geared towards sexual reasons, either. ie. psychic hotlines.
Q: Is some man gonna come knocking on your door or calling you once he finds out who you are, and I don't mean to pay you?
A: Do you realize how hard it is to actually find the person on the other end of the phone? The hotline has an 800, 866, or 900 (normally) number and they connect the caller to your extension or mailbox.
Q: What if someone beats you up?
A: First of all, what does beating anyone up have to do with this job? If you're going to go off the basis of "getting beat up", you may as well pull kids out of school. Secondly, you are beating her up, emotionally and possibly mentally, by telling her to get out of America if she takes pride in her job, no matter what her job is.
Q: Making noises to stir up interest in men, what a lie.
A: This is a lie? As far as I know, women and men get "stirred up" from noises, whether it's from a chatline, with a lover, or from a movie. It's human. We have sensory organs in those areas for a reason.
Q: What are ya doing, damaging the men? Look at the trouble this could cause someone who joins and pays you:
I. Money out of their charge card.
II. Imaginary ideas thata don't go no where.
III. Possible police/legal action as if you get them all stirred up and they go and hurt someone or try to molest someone that is real in their area, thinking "all" women are like that, they could end up having to go to Prison, Jail, at least have to go to sexual offender treatment or sexual counseling.
A.I.: If a man's money comes out of his card for the chatline, there's probably a really good chance he knew about the charge beforehand, considering he wouldn't have given his card number and information out to them otherwise.
A.II.: As before, if you're really worried about imaginary ideas, take children out of school, get rid of television, and never EVER give anyone paper again. Imagination happens with all of us, and 95%+ of the human population has fantasies, whether they admit it or not.
A.III.: If they get stirred up and try to do something to some woman, and they get caught, GOOD. That means they were unstable in the first place. Psychology studies show that we're hardwired to what turns us on by the time we're 5 years of age - even though we don't use it for at least 5-7 more years. (AT LEAST) I feel bad for any woman that gets attacked, molested, abused, or raped, but whoever did it is SOLELY responsible for this and if they happened to get all "hot and bothered" on a chatline earlier, I'm sorry, but that's a ridiculous defense.
Q: What if some stupid man falls in love with you and finds you in the shower?
A: Everyone has some stupidity, even people who think they don't. I personally think anyone who "falls in love" with someone who doesn't even show real interest in them (i.e. a chatline operator who shows interest in money) is pretty stupid, and sometimes that points to an unstability. Also, like mentioned above, it is not exactly easy to trace the operator. It's actually easier for someone to trace your computer and follow where you go online than it is to find out where you live or what your number is from a chatline.
Q: What if some stupid woman falls in love with you that is gay?
A: Firstly, "lesbian" is the term you're looking for. And look above for this one; same answer applies because lesbians and "gays" are people just like straight or bisexual people, whether someone wants to admit it or not.
Q: Do you not have any pride in yourself?
A: How is her working an anonymous chatline not having pride in herself? At least she can be proud of it, not be shy to ask questions, and do her research. Pride has nothing to do with the job you work at unless YOU put that much importance in it. If you do, then you decide what makes you proud. Why should she worry about what you think is pride and what makes her happy or what she is interested in?
Q: Do you not have any pride in your family?
A: What does her family have to do with this? She's not putting her kids on the phone, or telling someone about her kids or her parents or siblings. Besides, there's two ways her family would find out: 1, they visit the lines, or 2, someone told them. Either way, in your eyes, it's not reputable. But we're not concerned with keeping you happy here; we're talking about HER career.
Q: What about your image?
A: Yes. Image. On a PHONE chatline. That's what she's worried about. Image is what YOU make it, not what your job makes it. If your job makes your image, you need to spend some time doing something you like; you're human, not machine.
This is what got me the most:
If after you read the above and still want to do this sort of thing, then leave the USA and go over to Germany where they appreciate this sort of a career.
Do you say this to everyone here that does something you don't approve of? We're not here to please you, we're here to please ourselves. I think that's probably why people call chatlines in the first place. You're not the one in charge of America, so I don't know where you think you can tell her to get out of our country.
The point is, Patty, if you think you'll enjoy it, then by all means, do it. I am a freelance writer and I LOVE it. Although SOME *wink* may not think it's reputable, you need to do what makes you happy because no one else is going to; everyone else is out to get what makes them happy. If you're doing it just for the money, then try to find one enjoyable part about the job, otherwise you're going to get burnt out very quickly. Good luck, and I hope you're raking in the bucks soon! Be proud - it takes a certain kind of person to say they work for a chatline and be able to keep eye contact, and they deserve to be proud. |

Sorry about the edit, but we try to protect our members from any risks like phishing or abuse caused by using direct email addresses. We ask employers to put their websites on their posts, so people can see what's involved. If anything went wrong, you might not get a second chance.
Check out this link to current chat line jobs, (this thread started in 2005) and see if you can find something. There are a few chat line operators on the site, and they should be able to help you.

Lots of you have been asking me about a good chatline company to work for. So here it is. Ive been working for RFS for years,I'd say they are one of the best chatline places to work for but they only take on full time people that can do 30 hours or more a week. they are strict on logging in for work on time and you cant go missing any callls if you are logged in or theyll fire you. you need to fill in the online appllication form at this link: http://www.ringforsex.com/jobs
or you can always email them at jobs@ringforsex.co.uk and ask them for a form to apply to them,.hope this helps someone. btw they dont hire men, they only take on females. |

Sorry about the edit, but we try to protect members from abuse, phishing, etc. The idea is that the Chat line operators post a verifiable website etc here, so you can see who you're dealing with, and keep things transparent and on the level.
Abuse is very rare on this forum, but it has happened. People don't sign up to be abused, and we like to keep things visible for the sake of members.
There are actually a few current chat line posts, this is a recent one:

Just browse around the member's posts (click profile, then click posts) and you should find quite a few. |

I love my job , i think it is very funny. i tell my mum about some of the calls i get im not ashamed of my job.
NO ONE can find u through a chat line!! as richard said they are redirected through a preium number.
NOONE is forced to call chat lines they do so on there own accord.
we are not aloud to talk about such things as rape (forcing if it gets stared out) children , school girls, drugs or anything iligal so we are no winding these men up to go out and commit a crime and even if they were to go out and commit a crime after calling us the police could listen to our calls (all calls are recorded) and see what we talked about and seeing as we dont talk about anything illigal there is no link , its like going out and buying a pasty then mugging an old lady afterwards no link and ppl do what they want does this mean the pasty shop is responsible for this mugging? no.
Pride in my self hmm thats not a tough one. i have a daughter to provide for want me to go on benifits and live off state?? i respect my self for erning the money i do. and providing for my family!
i found a site advertising my job just do a search for chat line jobs. you do not have to pay anything up front if they say that walk away! yes u need to do your own tax and NI but its easy to get set up and the inland revenue are a great help. if u need any more info PM me , but its 100% safe, and most of the callers are the same talk anyway!
oh they way i work is i log on to the system with my pc and them my calls get redirected to me. when a call comes through i pick the phone up and theres a long beep .. and i know its work. the callers profile will then come up on my screen. and i can use that to my advantage!
i would put u in tuch with my company but i know for a fact theres no jobs going atm .
Good luck and happy searching |
please can u put me in touch anyway thankyou very much xx |
