Kim
I am Writing in response to your recent job advertisement on the Job Centre Website for the position of Office Trainee.
I am very enthusiastic about what I do and would like to further my skills. I am computer literate as I have completed a Key Skills Level 2 in information and communication technology course and also a DiDA Course. I have only 6 months experience of administration but would like to further develop this into a career and think this job would be the perfect way of furthering myself.
Currently, I work for City Of York Council as a temporary administrator. From this job I have learnt that I can work well under pressure, work both as a team and individually. I can also organise my work to make me more efficient. Whilst in this position I have helped to organise the office to make it a more pleasant place to work. I have put forward ideas to make the admin team more efficient and also made these ideas work.
Thanks for taking the time to read my application and hope to see you soon. |

Hi Kim,
I think you should remove this line "I have only 6 months experience of administration but would like to further develop this into a career and think this job would be the perfect way of furthering myself." It is not a good idea to draw attention to your lack of experience and even though you hope to get something out of the job, the cover letter is more about how the employer will benefit. Play up your accomplishments and maybe say something like "In only 6 months, I successfully ..."
Good luck! |
