A resume is effectively a list of all your education and employment. It would include, for example, your whole work history, and education.
A CV, which is similar, but not the same, concentrates on accomplishments related to employment and incorporates education, training, qualifications, and other experiences as part of the job application.
A resume can be described as being a lot less specific. It contains all information, whether relevant or not. CVs are targeted. A resume basically becomes a CV when it's reworked and put in context with a career path, a job.
In practice, most job applications are now CV oriented. The selection process is geared to essential criteria, keywords, and other forms of information which are contained in CVs. A resume, which contains basic information, is less likely to be effective in this environment.
For example, your CV will include your career objectives, achievements, and other information in formats not contained in a resume, directly related to the job application. |
