Hello all,

I got an interview! I'm looking to research as much as I can about the company, and I've got the whole company website to look through, as well as (fortunately) a brief wiki article about them. Are there any other websites or resources that can tell me more about a company?

Thanks!!

It depends on the size of the company and the area it's in but there's a few places worth trying.

Google News is worth a try. Try the company name and it'll bring back any news articles. If you find some interesting ones try visiting the sites featuring them to learn a bit more about the industry.

Hoovers is also worth a try. It'll give you an overview of medium to large companies including competitors, directors and financial numbers.

Otherwise try searching local press websites as smaller companies often contact local press if they've got some good news like expansion plans.

It's worth reading a little about the industry the company is in too. So you might be going for a job in accounts at a car dealership. How's the car market doing? What types of cars are selling? What are customers looking for when they're buying cars?

Hope this helps

If they are a big company then it is definitely worth reading through their financial material and annual reports.

Thoroughly reading these documents is a must as it will make you stand out from many other potential employees in the job interview.

I feel like knowing about a company is not easy....even if it is scratching through the whole online world...You know one of my friend was asked about his knowledge on the company (Accenture)...he replied that He has no idea...Its just that the company has good profile and is sure to give him the opportunity to excel in future is the reason why he is looking forward to join the company..Again, he was accurate on the tech and HR questions...In the end, he even got the job...

So, I would advice you not to go for the company profile if you have no idea whatsoever and be more targeted towards other questions of the interview...
