I was considering becoming a Cop in Canada and I have two questions:

1. Is there any way I could get a job with the police using the computer like at their offices or something? Is there a position like that and if so, what is the proper name / education for that?

2. After high school (to become a normal officer), should I go to college or university or is there somethings else that's special for becoming a cop?

Thanks.

The job you're talking about is strictly speaking a "civilian" job, in most police forces.

The likely name of the position is some form of normal IT position. Education requirements will probably be high, because they work with some specialist data.

Professional police have their own special training, in academies. Your academic record will be required to meet their criteria.

I found this link, an FAQ on the subject, which looks like it has most of the basic steps, although it starts off with courses for people already in the police force. http://www.cpc.gc.ca/faq_e.htm

This is also a big commitment. You'd be advised to check it all out thoroughly, before signing up for a few years of hard work.

Another thing you might want to look at are the police ads for IT people, if that's your preferred approach. They can give you the basic qualifications required, and contacts for checking out how to structure a course for those positions.
