Hello Everyone,

I would love to move to the UK and work there, but as I hear it is very hard for an American to do so.

My boyfriend does live in the UK, and we are trying to work on ways to get me over, but I am not sure about getting married just to get me over there. If I do move over I would need a job definitely. I am not sure what I should do or could do to go about getting the right visa for me to be able to live and work in the UK.

Some helpful info maybe? I am 25 this March, I have been to the UK at least 6 times, I have known my boyfriend since I was 17, I have some college/university completed but I do not have my Bachelors' degree (not sure if American Degrees are even worth anything in England) yet. I am an administrative assistant, which isn't a highly skilled job sigh.

Thanks for any and all help.

Well, getting married will definitely get you there.
If you can complete your degree and get yourself a job there, that will be your alternative. But unless you can find a job, I am afraid you will not be able to get a permanent resident status unless you really do not mind the getting married thing.

I read you comment and wanted to know if you have considered doing a home based business that after you are established here in the states, you can take with you overseas? If you are interested, send me an email. Ingrid.
