Hi,

I’m American and I’d like to work in Asia. I have completed my graduation in bachelor of arts and working as a customer care executive in a call center in America. I have 1 year of customer care experience. Currently I have been learning Asian languages.

What career opportunities are available for Americans in Asia?

What are the highest paying jobs and careers in Asia?

Can I apply for Assistant manager post in India’s call center?

Percival

Just to help people that might want to help you.. Is there any parts of Asia that you are more interested in than others..
Because you know Asia is very big and very diverse.

Hi i worked in Asia for 16 years.

Theres no such thing as the best paying job.

You really cant assume youll get the ''highest paying job. in any industry.

You have to work...prove yourself...than ask for a rise, like everyone else.

In asia, they dont suffer fools and there are no pedestals for Westerners who want to wipe the floor of Asian experts.

India has a culture of commitment to education and skills. Despite what you see of india on the TV. Anyone who is in a call centre has skills, even if they dont sound like they can speak english when you;re on the phone.

Call centre work is hardly the ''highest paid of jobs your looking for'' Highly paid jobs come from aquiring the skills in your own country, getting a transfer from your company to Asia. That way you get all the perks and assistance you need with travel and accommodation.

You cant just walk into work. You have to work first.
Dont go in with an attitude of being better qualified than asians. Most of people out there can speak several languages, including English. So theyre way ahead of us for a start. Most kids speak at least three languages.

If you go in with an attitude of willingness, openness, and being willing to learn and be humble, you may make it. If you go in thinking you have something special to offer Asians, your a highly paid EXPAT you'll soon want to get out.. Youll be very unwelcome. Remember, most of Asia has already been governed by some western empire. Theyre tired of it.

good luck.

I have heard that a lot of the call center jobs are not great paying. But you don't know about something like that unless you try. Why not get a job there and then try for a supervisor role after a short time and being able to prove yourself?
