Hi,

Is there any agency to evaluate intl degrees in US?

I have recently completed my master’s degree in taxation from India. I want to do PhD in taxation from US.

Please tell me how and where to evaluate international degrees in US?

Melvin

melvin-

Had a look for you, and it's not as easy as you'd think. There's a process for graduate studies. That complicates things a bit, and it still doesn't really do a lot to tell you where or which colleges you could use for your PhD.

For what it's worth, here's the links to EducationUSA homepage and the graduate study page:

An alternative approach might be to directly contact a taxation agency, and see if they can sort through the process and give you a straight path for your doctorate. This link is to NY State Dept of Taxation and Finance.

Failing that, you'll need to contact the US colleges direct, and try to get some meaningful, or at least coherent, feedback about their requirements. They will at least be able to give you a track for evaluation/enrollment.

This shouldn't be a major difficulty. The US gets millions of foreign students every year. Suggest, though, that you make sure the visa, fees, your own costs, entry requirements, etc. are all covered and in working order before you arrive. Tends to be the detail which causes the problems.
