I received an email informing me that I have been selected for an interview. I replied back with my times of availability and I politely asked them what it was about my CV that suggested that I be interviewed. Upon receiving the reply, it turned out that they didn't receive my CV and they probably misread my cover letter.

They wrote: "Since our work focuses on Chinese American families, your experience with Asian populations and fluency in Chinese would be a great asset to our lab."

I can address the first part regarding the "experience with Asian populations" easily because it was something that could have been clarified had they received my CV. But I specifically mentioned that I was "proficient" in Chinese rather than "fluent" in my cover letter. How should I reply to this email? Or should I address this at the interview (which will take place towards the end of the week), and how??

Thanks in advance!

I would go ahead and go to the interview but be sure to clarify everything and not mislead further. Given the chance, they might decide they like you at the interview and call you back for a second one or go ahead and hire you. But your honesty is going to matter; please be sure to be 100% honest and represent yourself well.
