I have an interview next week and am afraid of being asked an explanation for leaving present job. My concern that they will ask is because I know I am overqualified for the job I will be interviewed for. My present job pays better . However I am not happy. I want more peace of mind and less responsibility in the job. How can I put this nicely? I don’t want to look as a person who cannot take up responsibility. ###

Saying something like you feel you could better serve in a different job and moke more of a difference, or simply stating that you feel yo have reached the limits of your current job and that there is not much more you can do there. Those are some possible answers for you. Think this one over though, and have a good answer ready, as it is most certain to come up!

You should definitely look like you're a person who cannot cope with responsibilities! Instead, you can offer valid explanations, without being forced to lie necessarily (you know you can get caught quite easily).
Basically, this question is the reversed version of the "Why do you want to work here" question:

Drag the interviewer onto the holy ground of "Personal Reasons." Ask yourself if they are going to give you reasons for NOT hiring you, if it plays out that way. Answer: No. You're leaving for the most noble, honorable, and admirable reason(s) of all, you're putting your LIFE ahead of working and making money.

Hell, I wish I owned a company. I'd hire you without knowing anything else about you, or even wanting to know anything else. If that conviction and certainty carries over into how you conduct yourself, the way you walk and talk, and if THAT doesn't get you this job, you'll later rip off your clothes and dance under the full moon and give thanks they did NOT hire you!
